Fernando Arturo Mendoza, known as Arty to family and friends, is a newest agent to join the Capital Estate Group Team. Born and raised in the Maryland suburbs, Arty is a native to the DC area.

After high school, Arty attended Boston University where he received a Bachelor of Science in Communication with a concentration in Advertising. While in college, Arty was a Project Support for an advertising agency in Sydney, Australia, and the Marketing and PR Project Support for ThinkFoodGroup, José Andrés’s company in Washington, D.C. Arty received “Account Planner of the Year” while part of AdLab, Boston University’s student run advertising agency. Arty also founded Delta Lamba Phi’s Alpha Chi Chapter and tutored Boston Public School students in reading, writing and math.

Arty’s successful career in restaurant hospitality has prepared him for the relationship-driven real estate market. As a lead server, bartender, service manager, maître d’, and event planner, Arty has developed his love of food, wine, problem solving and creating experiences that goes beyond the surface level transactions.

Arty currently lives in the Van Ness neighborhood with his partner. When not working, Arty can be seen as a leader on and off the rugby pitch. Rugby has been an integral part of Arty’s life, teaching him the importance of responsibility, preparedness, and authenticity. He has played in matches and tournaments all over the U.S. and internationally, including Australia and Canada. Arty’s other interest include tasing wines and grape varietals from lesser-known regions and recently starting an indoor plant garden.
