While we all live in the Greater Washington DC Metro Area, the home markets in the different counties, cities, and states can vary.
While the median sales price in Montgomery County rose by 3.7% year-to-date, sales have been virtually the same this year as in the first eight months of 2016.
In contrast, Prince George’s County, has seen a 6.8% increase in sales over 2016 and a 10% increase to the median home sales price. This could be attributed to PG County being the most affordable county near DC, with the most new construction.
With the majority of single family listings in Montgomery County falling in the $600,000-$800,000 range, PG County’s $300,000-$400,000 price tags are very appealing to families.
